Skandinavisk naturovervåkning has extensive experience in freshwater eco system monitoring, ranging from population surveys to large projects such as restoration of hydro power affected rivers. Our experience extends to more than 300 watercourses, including several multiyear surveys.
This makes us one of the leading contributors on population monitoring, as well as being able to understand and help solve problems regarding fish migration in lakes and rivers. We have years of experience working with risk assessments on topics within, but not limited to, freshwater ecology and -fauna.
Scandinavian Nature Surveillance has developed the method of video monitoring of anadromous salmonid populations, making us leaders in our field.
We have also made a large contribution to the development of drift diving as a method of monitoring anadromous salmonid populations, which means we are one of the most experienced companies in Scandinavia. With these methods we can monitor populations of salmon, sea run trout and sea run arctic char in a way that provides observations of factual population data without modelling or estimates. Through drift diving we can also identify, and capture escaped farmed salmon in an efficient way that inflict little to no harm on the wild salmon population.
